Site Visit Invitation

Soon after Lockdown 2.0 ended, Galaxy moved its electrical waste re-use and recycling operations to a new warehouse at La Hure Mare Industrial Estate, Vale. We are now inviting Customers to visit our new site, to learn more about the different workflows involved in safely, securely and sustainably processing Guernsey’s electrical waste for reuse or recycle.

The warehouse accommodates a buzz of diverse activities, as Galaxy acts as Guernsey’s hub for domestic and commercial e-waste. Despite Lockdown, Galaxy has received 10 tonnes of e-waste from the States of Guernsey Longue Hougue Recycling Centre so far this year; and continues to offer secure data shredding and erasure services to Commercial Customers.

The Team have have been busy setting up the new facility, and ensuring sufficient control measures are in place to maintain compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management, the ISO 14001 Environmental Management and the ISO 27001 Information Security Management Standard, and the organisation’s Zero-to-Landfill Policy.

The Covid-19 Restrictions, which resulted in Lockdown 1.0 and 2.0, and the move to a new warehouse have slowed Galaxy’s progress in achieving the ESI Monitor Environmental Operations Award. Environmental stats have been skewed by Lockdown, and their recent relocation. But we are hopeful that we will soon be able to set a deadline for hitting net zero emissions within the business; and will be able to provide Emissions and Savings Reports back to our Customers.
