Merry Xmas & Happy 27001!
19th December 2019
We are delighted to announce that Galaxy CI has achieved certification against the ISO 27001 Information Security Management Standard. We cannot think of better way to celebrate the incredible effort Galaxy’s new team have put into the business in the last 6 months.
Galaxy’s certification against the ISO 27001 Standard, and its re-certification against the ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management earlier this Autumn; recognises the improvements our new management team have started to make across the breadth of the business.
The ISO 27001 Standard includes clauses relating to Customer Focus, Leadership and effective Management, Planning, Risk Assessment, Objectives and Key Performance Indicators, Asset Management, Access Control, Performance Review and Improvement; and 114 technical security controls under 35 category headings. All of these controls, with the exception of those specific to software development, are relevant to Galaxy and we have worked hard to ensure that each of these controls are embedded within business operations: security by design and default. We have recently purchased a new mobile shredding vehicle to improve our on-site shredding service; and have upgraded the surveillance and monitoring systems in our vehicles, and across our sites in Guernsey and Jersey in order to mitigate the risks associated with data transport and off site shredding.
We have also identified new opportunities for the local re-use of non-data bearing component parts, in order to reduce the carbon footprint associated with export off-island for recycling and re-manufacturing.
We would like to our Customers for sharing their feedback with us, and for giving us the opportunity to evolve and shape our services to meet their expectations and requirements. We welcome any Customers who would like to audit our processes and security controls, or observe the data shredding process.
We would also like to thank our new team for their hard work, dedication and effort over the past 6 months.
Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas, and a Happy 27001!
