ISO Re-certification, 2020
3rd December 2020
Galaxy CI have achieved re-certification against the ISO 27001 Information Security Management Standard; following a successful external audit in November 2020.
The Team have also achieved re-certification against the ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards.
“This re-certification means a lot. We have experienced an unprecedented demand for on-site shredding services this year. (Fortunately this has not been because any of our Customers have closed offices, as a result of Covid-19). But we have had to adapt the delivery of our services to comply with different Covid-19 restrictions in Guernsey and Jersey; without compromising our security controls. This re-certification proves that our control measures, and contingency plans, are robust. We’re delighted to have received great feedback from our Customers, and the External Auditor; and will continue to adapt to changing requirements.“ – Compliance Manager, Fran Browning.
Re-marketing erased hardware and component parts underpins Galaxy’s environmental and sustainability objectives; and the Team are trying to identify more routes for re-use on island and within circular economies. Galaxy audits all external off-takers, to ensure they align with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards, or an equivalent benchmark.
“We are working hard to help Customers maximise the value they can recover from their obsolete hardware; as more Offices move away from local storage systems, desktop PC’s and thin clients towards laptops and cloud storage to facilitate home working.“ – Matt Strachan, Commercial Manager.
The External Auditor praised the Team’s ability to adapt to changing customer requirements and circumstances; and the effective management of the business’ compliance against the ISO Standards.
